- Amprolium is an analogue of thiamine (Vitamin B1), used for the treatment and prevention of coccidiosis in poultry with activity against Eimeria
- Vitamin K is essential during coccidiosis to protect the birds from blood loss.
- Galacturonic acid prevents irritation to the intestinal mucosa and thereby soothens the gut.
Features:
- Amprolium is a thiamine (Vitamin B ) analogue and its pharmacological effect relies on competitive inhibition of thiamine uptake.
- Amprolium competitively inhibits the active transport of thiamine in second-generation schizonts of Eimeria spp., and in host intestinal cells. Upon ingestion of Amprolium, the coccidia experience thiamine deficiency and starve from malnutrition.
Indications:
During coccidiosis caused by E. tenella, E. acervulina, E. maxima, E. mivati, E. necatrix, E. brunetti, etc.
Dose recommendation:
- Through drinking water – Use 1.5 gm of Amproforte per Litre of drinking water for 5 to 7 days. Mix Amproforte daily with fresh water.
- Through Feed – Mild incidences 1.5 kg/ton of feed, during severe incidences, use 3 kg/ton of feed or as recommended by the Veterinarian
