The Varsha Group successfully organized a Technical Symposium on Poultry Respiratory Disease Challenges & Solutions on 27th October 2025 in the Maldives. The event brought together leading poultry health professionals from integration to discuss emerging challenges, diagnostic advancements, and innovative control strategies for major respiratory diseases affecting poultry health and productivity.
The symposium featured insightful technical sessions by distinguished experts in the field.
Prof. Ganapathy, an eminent poultry virologist, University of Liverpool, United Kingdom, delivered an in-depth presentation on “Poultry Respiratory Disease Challenges & Solutions”, focusing on key pathogens such as Mycoplasma gallisepticum, Mycoplasma synoviae and the Infectious Bronchitis Virus (IBV). His session highlighted the complex interplay of these pathogens in respiratory disease outbreaks and emphasized the importance of integrated management strategies, including biosecurity, vaccination, and diagnostic monitoring.
Dr. H. K. Muniyellappa, farmer scientist and Professor & Head of Department (Quality Management System) IAH&VB, KVAFSU, Bengaluru, India, presented a comprehensive talk on “An Indian Perspective on Managing Respiratory Viral Infections”, with a special focus on Newcastle Disease Virus (NDV), Avian Influenza Virus (AIV), and Avian Metapneumovirus (aMPV). He shared valuable insights drawn from field experiences in India, covering effective prevention, surveillance, and control measures, as well as the role of regional collaboration in disease management.
The symposium fostered meaningful discussions among participants, encouraging knowledge exchange and regional cooperation to strengthen poultry health management practices. The event concluded with an appreciation of the speakers and attendees for their valuable contributions, reaffirming Varsha Group’s commitment to advancing scientific dialogue and supporting sustainable poultry production across the Nation.
