Avon Animal Health & Varsha Multitech Host Seminar on Efficient Poultry Nutrition

Dhaka, 22 November 2025 — A specialized technical seminar focusing on advanced solutions for cost-effective poultry production was held on Saturday at the Utsab Hall of Radisson Blu Water Garden Hotel. The event, jointly arranged by Avon Animal Health and Varsha Multitech, drew significant attention from nutrition specialists, veterinarians, feed formulators, and poultry farm managers from across the country.

Participants discussed how the continuous rise in raw material prices is putting pressure on poultry producers, making efficient nutrient utilization and smarter feed design more critical than ever.

As he inaugurated the seminar, President & CEO A.K.M. Sayeed Sarwar welcomed the audience and emphasized that cost management must not come at the expense of feed quality. He underlined that feed remains the single largest cost item in poultry operations, leaving farmers under constant economic pressure.

International poultry nutrition consultant Dr. N. C. Manju delivered a keynote discussion outlining how precision nutrition, strategic ingredient selection, and improved feed modulation tools can help producers reduce overall costs without compromising flock performance. He emphasized that sustainable cost control requires a scientific approach rather than simply substituting cheaper ingredients.

Focusing on organ health and its economic impact, Dr. Somashekar L., Assistant General Manager (Technical) at Varsha Multitech, explained how liver functionality influences feed efficiency and metabolic balance. Stress factors, poor-quality raw materials, and toxin exposure can weaken liver activity, ultimately increasing the cost of gaining live weight. He underscored that proactive liver care is essential for modern poultry operations.

Mr. Saravana Kumar M., Assistant General Manager at Varsha Multitech, introduced Bio-B Complete, an advanced choline replacer designed to offer greater stability and improved metabolic support compared to synthetic choline chloride. He highlighted how adopting such innovative additives can significantly lower formulation costs, while also enhancing bird health and performance indicators.

Addressing gut health as a central pillar of cost-effective production, Dr. Nandeppa B., General Manager (Technical), detailed the challenges associated with compromised gut integrity, including feed wastage, slower growth, and higher FCR. He presented two solutions—V-CID and Humicare—which work synergistically to maintain an optimal gut environment, improve nutrient absorption, and strengthen flock resilience.

Chairman of the company, Md. Mahabub Hassan, delivered the closing remarks, expressing his appreciation to all participants for their active engagement throughout the seminar. He reaffirmed the company’s dedication to supporting the poultry industry with innovative, practical and cost-efficient nutritional solutions.

The seminar concluded with an interactive open-floor discussion where attendees shared field observations and future expectations regarding cost-saving nutrition strategies. A raffle draw and networking dinner provided additional engagement opportunities for participants and industry leaders.

Both Avon Animal Health and Varsha Multitech reiterated their commitment to supporting the poultry sector with science-driven nutrition technologies, innovative feed additives, and farmer-oriented solutions suited to today’s cost-sensitive market.
